David Michie
At 13, David Michie became the youngest member of the Haddonfield Symphony and rose to become its concertmaster from 1980 to 1985. He studied under Philadelphia Orchestra violinist Frank Costanzo and later under Mark Baranov, associate concert-master of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He is currently a student of William dePasquale, retired co-concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra. “Without Mr. dePasquale’s dedication, inspiration and uncompromising principles of violin playing, this performance would not have been possible,” Mr. Michie said.

The concertmaster of the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey since its establishment, Mr. Michie is a former member of the Trenton Symphony, the Delaware Valley Philharmonic, Concerto Soloists of Philadelphia and the Philly Pops. He has performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall and at music festivals in Italy, Great Britain, Australia and Canada.

Mr. Michie is the founder of David Michie Violins, L.L.C. of Philadelphia,specializing in fine violins, violas and cellos. Along with his wife, Denise and sons Andrew and Kyle (both young violinists), he resides in Ardmore, PA.
