Katherine Akinskas

Katherine Akinskas is in her second year as Choir Director at Eastern Regional High School.  Before coming to Eastern, she taught vocal and instrumental music for three years at North Hunterdon High School in Annandale, New Jersey.

Mrs. Akinskas studied music at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, and a vocal concentration.  In her time there, she performed as a soloist with the Chorale, Collegium Musicum, and in several musical theater and opera productions.  Mrs. Akinskas also was a founding member of the College’s a capella group, The Trentones.  In 2005, she participated in an independent study with Dr. Michael Mendoza, and had the opportunity to conduct the college's Chorale in its Spring Concert.

Mrs. Akinskas directs the Chorus, Women's Choir, and Chorale at Eastern.  She also currently sings with the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, under the direction of Alan Harler.  She lives in Haddon Township with her husband, Kevin.
